I realize there are many of you out there who are just dying of winter and wishing it was gone. As a knitter, a lover of wool and flannel and layering, I’m pretty ok with winter. If it were fall all the time, I’d be even better, but winter and I are friends. Today we had a snow day, a proper one where lovely, powdery snow came down for hours, inviting hours of warmth and Dr. Who and a few rows of knitting (when Cubby wasn’t busy grabbing the needles out of my hand).
I created this pattern as an homage to the good snow days. The ones where you can stay inside, drink cocoa, stay in your pajamas, and eat food drowning in melted cheese. The trees are hand drawn and the snowflake was drawn on my Wacom tablet, which I’m still getting the hang of. I hope that if you are in the doldrums of winter, you’ve had at least one happy snow day like that.
